What is Chiropractic treatment?
Chiropractic care offers hands on pain management and focuses on muscles, joints and nerves. Chiropractice is suitable for all ages and can help with a wide range of problems. Chiropractors use their hands to make specific adjustments to problematic joints where signs of restriction in movement are found. This along with muscle, tendon and ligament treatment techniques restores normal function to the area concerned, stimulating the body’s natural healing ability. Patients are also frequently given home stretches and exercises in order to increase the recovery rate and prevent relapses. Advice on general exercise, lifestyle and basic nutrition can also be given.
As chiropractice is a regulated primary health care profession, you can be seen privately and don’t have to be referred by your doctor (this may be different when dealing with patients using health insurance; please phone the clinic). Chiropractors are trained to diagnose a wide range of problems and we will refer you to another health practitioner should a different management plan be needed.
